11. Horological metrology and tolerances
Measure diameters, thicknesses, endshake, sideshake, flatness, and concentricity with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and microscopes. Use tolerances and fits to decide whether a component can be adjusted, repaired, or must be replaced.
